We are seeking a highly organized, sales-driven, and leadership-oriented individual to join our team as a Manager of Estate Sale Operations in the Chicagoland area.

What You’ll Do
As an Manager of Estate Sale Operations, you will oversee estate sale operations, team coordination, and customer experience, ensuring smooth execution and maximum revenue generation for our clients.
Leadership & Team Management
- Oversee a team of Estate Sale Specialists to ensure efficient and organized sales execution.
- Train, mentor, and delegate responsibilities to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to best practices.
- Ensure team members are punctual, professional, and customer-focused during sales events.
- Act as the point of contact for clients, buyers, and team members on-site.
Estate Sale Event Execution
- Plan, stage, and execute estate sales, ensuring a visually appealing and well-organized setup.
- Price and categorize items appropriately to maximize sale potential.
- Ensure secure handling of cash and card transactions, managing point-of-sale (POS) systems effectively.
- Monitor buyer activity, prevent theft, and maintain a safe and organized shopping environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions about pricing, item history, and sale logistics.
Sales Optimization & Commission Potential
- Strategically adjust pricing and promotions throughout the sale to drive revenue.
- Encourage bulk purchases and upselling opportunities to enhance customer experience and sales volume.
- Potential for commission-based earnings tied to estate sale success in addition to hourly pay.
Post-Sale & Home Transition Coordination
- Oversee the breakdown of sales and ensure proper documentation of unsold inventory.
- Arrange for donations, cleanouts, and final client reviews to complete the transition process.
- Ensure the home is left broom-clean and ready for the next phase (resale, move-in, etc.).
Weekend Availability & Flexibility
- Estate sales primarily take place on weekends, requiring flexibility for Friday-Sunday shifts as needed.
- Availability for pre-sale staging, sale days, and post-sale cleanups is essential.
What We’re Looking For
We need a proactive, detail-oriented leader with sales expertise and a passion for customer experience.
Core Skills & Qualifications
✅ Estate Sale or Resale Experience – 5+ years of estate sales and resale experience.
✅ Leadership & Team Oversight – 2+ years of experience managing teams and delegating tasks effectively.
✅ Strong Organizational & Pricing Skills – Ability to assess, categorize, and stage items for maximum sale potential.
✅ Cash & Card Handling – Comfortable using POS systems, mobile payment apps, and processing transactions securely.
✅ Problem-Solving & Adaptability – Ability to adjust pricing, resolve customer inquiries, and keep sales running smoothly.
✅ Reliable & Professional – Always punctual, well-presented, and able to manage sales independently.
✅ Physical Stamina – Capable of standing, bending, lifting (up to 25 lbs), and working long shifts.
Additional Requirements
- Weekend availability required (Estate sales typically run Friday-Sunday).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required).
- Smartphone proficiency (for scheduling, communication, and transaction processing).
- Background check required prior to hiring.
